I have attached the previous year board question papers (years 2018 and 2019). Use them wisely and prepare well for the upcoming board exams. Stay tuned for more updates!

Science, an important subject – In class 10, science was one of the most important subjects among the five subjects I wrote in my board exams. The lessons were easy, if the concepts in the lessons were well understood. But the subject also demanded me to study every nook and cranny of the NCERT book to ace all one-mark questions. Diagrams, a difficulty – One of the difficulties I faced while preparing for my unit tests and pre-boards, was the diagrams in Physics and Biology. Chemistry didn’t have many diagrams that were important for the board exams. Physics had some easy and basic diagrams which were important. But Biology had many difficult diagrams which needed to be memorized. I was confused with what diagrams I had to memorize, because of the endless list of them. Solutions – To solve this, I asked my teachers for the most important diagrams to expect for the boards. I compiled a list and started practicing them. At first, it was difficult drawing the diagrams. Afte...
In class 10, I was worried about one chapter in Maths – “Surface Area and Volume”. Even though the whole chapter was just a bunch of formulas and I had been studying similar chapters in lower classes, I still was confused on which formula to apply for a particular situation. Since all the problems asked from this chapter were word problems, I felt that it was tough to ascertain which information was really required to solve the question and which were just given to derail me. One of the key parts of the chapter, were the water-flow sums. Undoubtedly, it was the most difficult type of sums I encountered while studying. I remember practicing this type of sums, right before the exam, so that I wouldn’t make a mistake in the boards. As I suspected, I got a water-flow based problem in my paper. Some questions demanded the conversion of units (for example, m^3 to cm^3) to the most appropriate. I had lost a lot of marks in my school exams, just because I didn’t convert the unit...
Type of letter - We have letter writing in Sanskrit starting from grade 8. The letter is a “fill in the blanks” type, where the words which need to be filled will be given in the help box below the letter. For students, “filling blanks” is easy normally. But, in these letters that is not the case. Pattern of letter and difficulty faced - As Sanskrit is not a language that we usually speak, these letters were difficult for me. The letter was a part of the writing skills section. Each sentence had one blank for ½ mark. There were 10 blanks like that, which sums up to 5 marks. Each letter was different, so there were many new words in these letters, which I needed to learn. The first few blanks were direct like sender’s name, receiver’s name etc. The next blanks were part of the main content in the letter. This pattern did not change. But I had the same age-old problem of not understanding the meaning of the sentences. Practices followed to score full marks - In order to get ...
Difficulty while learning Trigonometry - When I initially started out, I had difficulties in grasping the basic concepts. Trigonometry was an alien topic to me where I was unable to remember the simple formulas and t-ratios right. Types and approaches to different problems - Trigonometry had a lot of “to prove” sums. Each sum had a different approach. For example, some sums, needed the LHS to be rationalized at the first step, in order to arrive at the RHS. Many students in my class (including me at first), didn’t know how to approach the sums. I tried lots of different problems, in order to know which approach is correct. In exams, speed is important. So, if you know the correct approach for a sum, you can arrive at the correct answer very fast. You may also have another approach, but if it has a lot of steps, it may not be as helpful in your exams. Practices to follow for being thorough in Trigonometry - My IIT coaching institute helped me in giving lots of differ...
